Delicious Everyday –
Friday Finds
While I love making as much from scratch as possible, I do love the gorgeous range of products from Beerenberg. Especially their caramelised onions (which saves me all the tears of chopping onions) and their chilli jam. Their strawberry jam is pretty spectacular on scones too!
How amazing does this Apple & Salted Caramel tart from Valli Little in the March issue of delicious magazine look?
Are you a tea lover like me? Then this study will bring some happy and healthy news – a study finds adding lemon to tea to boost it’s antioxidant power.
I’m a huge fan of Pedro Ximénez, and this is one of my absolute favourites. They also make a great Chardonnay too.
The lovely Nigella Lawson on the cover of British Vogue.
Diets high in meat, eggs and dairy might not be as healthy for you as you think. And 7 reasons vegetarians live longer.
As a vegetarian of 20 plus years, I try to make sure the food I eat contains a lot of iron, but when I need a boost to my iron levels I use Spatone liquid iron supplement mixed with a glass of orange juice. It’s the only iron supplement I’ve tried that doesn’t come with the usual side effects you find from taking an iron supplement.
This workout from Jillian Michaels. I’m so happy, that 4 months after being the sickest I’ve ever been, with the worst virus ever, I finally have my energy back and am able to do this workout (as I was able to before getting sick) without struggling.
Weekly eats
Beetroot and goats cheese jalouise – I love the contrast of the pretty purple beetroot and the white goats cheese.
Mushroom & Thyme Spaghetti – a super fast weeknight dinner that can be whipped together in 15 minutes.
Spiced mushroom kebabs with freekah pilaf – freekah pilaf recipe from here although I added some cherry tomatoes into the mix as well.
Oven baked sesame felafel – recipe from delicious magazine March 2014 (page 82) although I added the sesame coating. These were a little too dry for me. I think I’ll stick to fried felafel.
Twice baked ricotta souffles with roasted cherry tomatoes and salad leaves
Edamame salad with rice noodles – this makes a great lunch and I adore the chilli lime dressing.
Chickpea, spinach and feta filo parcels from Jamie’s 15-Minute Meals
Moroccan chickpea salad – I love this so much.
What did you cook this week? Did you come across any great recipes that you’ll be adding to your regular rotation?
Have a great weekend!
