Model and Me: Eloquii Dress

Over on Instagram and TikTok, I started experimenting with a new review format of “Model and Me.” I show the photo of the model in the item I ordered, and then share what it looks like on me. One of the hardest parts of shopping online, especially in plus sizes, is that there is so much variation in how an item fits. I have styles from brands in sizes 22-32 that all fit me at this point in time. As someone on the larger side of plus, there are very, very rarely models of my size on websites, so it’s a total guessing game.

The goal of the series is to simply give another data point to someone trying to make a decision on whether to buy something. Perhaps it will encourage someone to try a new brand or perhaps a style that they couldn’t envision on their body.

What the series is NOT is a comparison. It’s not model VS me, or “who wore it best?” We spend enough time comparing ourselves to others – no need to put it up for discussion!

First up is a sweater dress from Eloquii. It gives me Chanel vibes with black and white, piping, and gold buttons. This is available in sizes 14-32.

For reference, I’m generally a plus size 28, and apple-shaped with a larger lower belly. I’m 5’10 with a long torso and short legs.

Eloquii is starting to roll out some of their styles in sizes 30/32, and this was one of them. I was concerned about the dress being too tight on my lower belly/hips, so I sized up and ordered this dress in that size to mitigate that potential.

The dress is such a great material – it’s not a super stretchy, open weave sweater. It’s tightly woven, thick (but not too thick) material with good bounceback. It felt very luxe.

It’s a full-placket button down, so you could wear it open as a cardigan, or layer and add a belt – lots of options. I could have ordered my regular size in this, but was happy overall, so I kept the dress.
