As a Christmas tree maximalist, I’d hoped to share more holiday decor content this year. It turned out that November and December were just like the rest of the year for me here on the blog – very quiet. I shared a lot of holiday home decor in Instagram Stories, and even on TikTok, but my long-form writing and processing were mainly done offline. I hope to get some balance back in the new year. I miss it here, and will forever be a fan of the blogging medium. It’s always refreshing here, whereas social media can be really draining and a fast pass to comparison land.

We had family come and stay with us between Christmas and New Year’s, and it was so nice to have a full house. I love hosting people, even if I sometimes appear a little (or a lot) stressed out about it. I want everyone to feel comfortable and like they have everything they need – Southern hospitality, I suppose. I think the biggest serving hit of the week was sausage balls. If you’ve never had them (maybe they’re a Southern thing?), I definitely recommend them for your next gathering. They don’t look like much but taste great. I usually make them in the oven but tried one of the two batches in the air fryer this time and they were just as good. Keep an eye on the time in the air fryer – I found they cook a little faster. For an extra kick, throw in some red pepper flakes. You can also serve it with a creamy dip if you prefer.

Now, onto the Christmas trees!

If you’ve seen my trees before, you will find some repeats. To do this many trees, I’ve had to slowly add items to my collection every year. That means the themed trees are pretty locked-in as far as the ribbon, ornaments, and accents I use. I may tweak how I add the elements, but it can be really expensive to do something entirely new from scratch.

Last year, I was able to flex some more creative juices by designing a new tree for a charity auction. I couldn’t commit to a whole tree this year for that event (and only on a week’s notice), so I made a wreath to donate. I have very little practice with wreaths but do love how this one turned out. It sold quickly, which I was really happy about!

I also made this wreath for my front door, which was fun. I fell into a deep hole of designer ribbons and bought a little too much! This plaid and green were so pretty, though.

The wreaths on the windows are something I purchased the first year we moved into this house, and I quickly realized they are too small in scale for the size of the windows. Every year I say I’m going to buy bigger ones, and then decide to make them last one more year. After 5 or so years, I finally bought some on an after-Christmas sale to add for next year. These are 20″, but the new ones are 30″ – big difference! I also want to hang them higher, but the tops of our windows don’t go down. I may have to try suction cups or something else if I want to get them higher. Growing up, we had wreaths like these and I always remember cursing the suction cups because they weren’t reliable. Then again, I was like 15, so maybe there are better options these days.

Magnolia Cream and Gold Christmas Tree

This tree got a major overhaul this year, and I was thrilled with the results. This is the first themed tree I wanted to do years ago as a tribute to my late mom, but I never was pleased with the results. It always looked haphazard to me, even though I spent the most time by far decorating it and investing in the elements.

First, I was gifted a 9ft. slim tree from King of Christmas. I previously had a 12ft. tree in here, but it was a full-width tree that projected 76″ into the room! The slim tree worked much better for the space and took far less to decorate. The tree took less than 13 minutes to assemble and fluff – I was thrilled.

The biggest change here, other than the tree, was the ribbon. I added about 70 yards of this gorgeous designer ribbon, which gave it the grounding it needed to add all the larger ornaments, oversized jeweled magnolias, and more sparkles. I also took out the long needle pine I used previously – it felt more shaggy than chic in this particular tree.

The fireplace used my favorite long-needle pine garland, along with some magnolia clips, and an addition of some crystal garland. View my fireplace garland tutorial here.

Jewel Toned Christmas Tree

This tree also got a major overhaul this year, thanks to more ribbon. This is one that is hard for me to photograph because the light is challenging in our entryway. It was spectacular and cheery in person!

The plaid glitter stripe ribbon was everything! It was the biggest splurge I spent on decorating this year, but I combined it with purple ribbon from years past, and some leftover ribbon from the magnolia tree. The majority of the ornaments are inexpensive shatterproof balls from AtHome.

Chinoiserie Blue, White, and Green Christmas Tree

This tree is exactly the same as in previous years – no new elements! It’s always a crowd favorite.

Animal Print Christmas Tree

No changes to this animal print Christmas tree this year. It’s Steve’s favorite because “it’s so different.” He usually has no opinion about decorations, so I’ll take it as a win!

Silver and Pink Tinsel Tree

This little tree lives in my office and always makes me smile. I also love it because I can simply throw a trash bag over it and store it fully decorated!

Simple with Glass Ornaments

This tree is in our bedroom, and I love how simple and clean it is. The only decoration on it is a bunch of glass ornaments from Target.

Family Tree

The family tree is the home of all the collected or inherited ornaments. They’re the ones that mean the most, and I love having them all together. Years ago (when I had a single tree), I shared some of my favorite ornaments.
